Uganda is not only the best country to see mountain gorillas, chimpanzees plus many other primates but also full of endemic bird destinations in Africa.
Here you will find species of birds like wood beans, turkaos, pittores, nähorn birds, trogons, as well as high-end Albertine Rift endemer.
Travel with our highly experienced bird and animal experts, who know where to find the difficult species that are not seen on regular trips.
Of course, there are also close encounters with the mountain gorillas in Bwindi’s dim-capped mountains, the chimpanzees of Kibale’s lowland forest, elephants, and lions.
All this complemented with our own four-wheel drive Safari which is the reason you should be a part of it.
The varied bird life
In the papyrus we see Africa’s most charismatic and herbaceous bird – the wooden king, on the dry savannas are plenty of birds of prey like the African Hawk Eagle and in the twilight we can see the flag-crossing spell glow.
On our adventure we try to sit quietly, but the heart beats with excitement. In front of us, just a bit away, are mountain gorillas.
They are calm and phlegmatic, sit most and pick a leaf which is rather the opposite of the lively, messy chimpanzees, which we visit in Kibaale Forest.
But remember our curiosity for the beautiful birds is in elevation because of the sweet sounds they produce, added to the cool air that sweeps across as they gently flip their wings.
At a distance, we see the snow on the peaks of the high Rwenzori Mountain with its magnificent scenery.
Not far away, are the chimpanzees in Kibaale Forest. Here we are surrounded by mighty and relatively easy-lined forests, at an altitude of 1100-1600 meters.
On our journey we get to visit our cousins; the chimpanzees, they are so used to humans that they always recognize our presence which makes it very interesting.
Our journey crosses the Emerald-Green Uganda for ten adventurous days. Here we also meet elephants, buffalos, lions and leopards on the Savannah in Queen Elizabeth Park.(Travel Tips)
